Staff In-Person Training

Helpers Program for Behavioral Health (HPBH) provides a live (via Zoom), interactive training for member-facing behavioral health staff in the state of Arizona to educate, train, and equip staff with evidence-based tobacco cessation methodologies.

The training presents on the following topics:

  1. Problems of tobacco use within the behavioral health population;
  2. Presentation of the Helpers model and its adaptation for behavioral health;
  3. Interactive practice of brief tobacco intervention “Helping Conversations;” and
  4. Helpers and community-based resources available to assist behavioral health members quit their tobacco use.


HPBH is now collaborating with agency training coordinators and site Champions for scheduling and registration of the training. Please contact your agency’s training coordinator or site Champion to find out more. We hope to see you at a training soon!
